Our Approach
Over 45% of the wine industry’s emissions come from packaging. We’ve championed the use of alternative packaging solutions from the outset, launching wine in single serve cans and Frugalpac bottles. We were the UK’s first wine in Frugalpac, a paperboard bottle using 100% recycled paper and 5 times lighter than a standard glass bottle.
We’re also looking at super lightweight glass bottles weighing just 360 grams and measuring how this can impact the product’s carbon footprint. Like any business, we have an environmental impact, but we’re committed to doing better business, transparently.
Since 2021, every single one of our products has been measured and audited for its carbon footprint and we print that measurement on the can or bottle. You will soon be able to view the full carbon measurement on our wine pages to see how far we go in assessing our impact and how we plan to improve.
Our Partnerships
We partner with the best organisations to help us manage our sustainability goals,
choosing the globally recognised B Corp organisation to measure and improve our standards.

We became B Corp in 2023, completing a rigorous certification process which identifies companies meeting high standards of social and environmental responsibility.

We donate 1% of total sales to environmental projects, via the 1% For the Planet network. Our current project partner is Treeapp, an organisation which plants trees in areas with high levels of deforestation globally.

We were the first UK wine company to measure the carbon footprint of all of our products and to print this information on pack. We are now partnering with Zevero, a carbon measurement scheme, which will provide us with our carbon footprint measurement per unit produced.

The wizards behind our paper wine bottle! Lighter than glass and with a lower carbon footprint, our Frugalpac bottles were first introduced in 2022 and are made from over 90% recycled paper.
Grape to Glass
We work with our producers to buy both bottled and bulk wine which we ship to the UK via lorry and train. Buying wine in bulk containers helps to reduce the carbon footprint of the wine, as it means not shipping the glass (the heaviest element). Shipping bottled wine is sometimes necessary and creates a more sustainable economy for the local community. All of our wines are sourced by our resident Master of Wine and quality controlled by our technical team.
