Wine duty changes on 1st August

At When in Rome we strive to be as transparent about our climate impact, as we do about the external forces exerted on our business.
Earlier in the year the Chancellor announced that the freeze on Alcohol duty would end on 31st July (despite the WSTA warning this would stoke inflation) and an increase in duty imposed on most alcoholic drinks, including wine as of 1st August. You can read more here.
To maintain the exceptional quality and standards we are known for, and to continue to offer our range of Italian craft wines, we have made the difficult decision to adjust our prices.
From August 1st our website prices will be as follows:Canned Wine
Paper Bottle
Bag in Box
Whilst we understand that any price increase, especially in the current climate is never welcome news, we have strived to maintain our prices despite the recent increases in our costs. However, we are unable to absorb what is the biggest single increase for the wine industry in the last 50 years.
Thank you for your continued support. Our promise to you as a valued When in Rome customer is that offering premium and sustainable wines at a fair price will always be a priority, and you will always be the first to know about our exciting new wines and special offers.
